Lazard Growth Acquisition Corp. I
A special purpose acquisition company, or SPAC—a "blank check" firm created to find a private business to take public through a merger. Sponsored by the financial firm Lazard, it was set up to hunt for growth companies in healthcare, technology, and energy, among other fields, raising money in an IPO in 2021. It never sealed a deal and returned investors' money, winding down in early 2023—a common fate for SPACs that run out of time.
