Curevac N.v.

A German biopharmaceutical company that turns messenger RNA—the body's own instruction molecules—into vaccines and therapies for infectious diseases and cancer, essentially turning cells into tiny protein factories. It was founded in 2000 as a spin-off from the University of Tübingen, when a doctoral student named Ingmar Hoerr proved that mRNA could be delivered directly into tissue to fight disease, at a time when most scientists thought the molecule was too fragile to use. Its name is a mash-up of "cure" and "vaccine."
