Jollibee Foods Corporation
A Philippine fast-food company, Jollibee Foods Corporation owns the Jollibee brand—famous for its Chickenjoy fried chicken and Jolly Spaghetti—plus Chowking, Greenwich Pizza, Red Ribbon Bakeshop, and Mang Inasal. It began in 1975 when Tony Tan Caktiong opened a Magnolia ice cream parlor in Quezon City, converting it into a fast-food restaurant in 1978. The name was originally 'Jolibe' until a consultant suggested 'Jollibee' to blend 'jolly' and 'bee,' and the bee mascot was chosen to represent the Filipino spirit.
