Danaos Corporation
A Greek company that owns and charters out one of the world's largest fleets of containerships to major global liner companies. Founded in 1972 by Dimitris Coustas, whose shipping roots go back to 1963, the firm takes its name from Greek mythology's Danaos, the figure credited with building the first ship. It listed on the New York Stock Exchange in 2006.
