Blackhawk Network Holdings, Inc.

A global financial-technology company that makes, distributes, and processes gift cards, prepaid cards, and incentive programs — the racks of retail cards shoppers find in grocery and convenience stores. Blackhawk Network was founded in 2001 inside the supermarket chain Safeway to pioneer the "gift card mall" idea and was spun off as an independent business in 2014. Its name echoes the Blackhawk community near its Pleasanton, California, headquarters, where the company was born.
