A Mexican bank and one of the country's largest financial groups, Banco Santander Mexico is the local arm of Spain's Banco Santander. It serves everyday consumers and big corporations alike, offering checking accounts, credit cards, mortgages, loans, and wealth management. Its roots stretch back to Banco Mexicano, founded in 1932, later merging with Banco Español and eventually being absorbed by the Spanish group in the 1990s. The bank takes its name from the Spanish city of Santander, and its flame logo has been part of the brand since 1986.
