A French advertising and marketing powerhouse, Publicis Groupe is one of the world's largest communications groups, running famous agency brands like Saatchi & Saatchi, Leo Burnett, and Publicis Sapient for clients worldwide. It was founded in Paris in 1926 by a 20-year-old Marcel Bleustein-Blanchet, who coined the name by blending "Publicité" (French for advertising) with "six" for the year 1926. In 1972, a fire destroyed the company's Champs-Élysées offices, and young IT director Maurice Lévy famously rushed back into the burning building to rescue the backup tapes holding the firm's vital records.
