Kuehne + Nagel International AG

One of the world's largest freight-forwarding and logistics firms, Kuehne + Nagel moves goods by sea, air, road, and rail and runs warehousing and supply-chain services for businesses across the globe. It was founded in 1890 in Bremen, Germany, when August Kühne persuaded his colleague Friedrich Nagel to start a shipping agency together, and it began by hauling cotton through that port. The name simply pairs the two founders' surnames, and though Nagel died in 1907, his name stayed in the brand that still operates today.
