Bb Seguridade Participacoes S.a.
A Brazilian holding company that acts as the insurance, pension, and premium-bond arm of Banco do Brasil, one of the country's largest and oldest banks. Through its BB Seguros and BB Corretora subsidiaries, it sells life, vehicle, and rural insurance, plus private pension and dental plans, reaching customers mainly through the bank's huge branch and digital network. Created in 2012 when Banco do Brasil reorganized its insurance businesses into a separate company, its name mixes the bank's "BB" initials with "seguridade," Portuguese for security and protection. Its 2013 stock-market debut ranked among the biggest public offerings of its year.
