The Bitcoin Fund
A Toronto-based investment fund, traded on the TSX as QBTC, that lets everyday Canadians own a share of actual Bitcoin without ever handling the cryptocurrency themselves. It holds real Bitcoin in secure cold storage and was launched in 2020 by 3iQ, a firm founded in 2012 by industry pioneer Fred Pye. It made history as Canada's first regulated Bitcoin fund to list on a major stock exchange, paving the way for a wave of crypto products.
