Organovo Holdings Inc
A clinical-stage biotechnology company that 3D-prints living human tissues using "bioinks" made of real human cells, creating models that drug researchers use to test new medicines for liver disease and inflammatory bowel conditions. Founded in 2007 from research by Professor Gabor Forgacs at the University of Missouri, the company's name blends "organ" with the Latin "novo" (new). Its first commercial product, exVive3D Human Liver Tissue, launched in 2014.
