Shapeways Holdings, Inc.
A maker of on-demand 3D printing services, Shapeways lets anyone upload a digital design and have it turned into a real object in dozens of materials—from custom jewelry and figurines to industrial prototypes. It was born in 2007 as a spin-off from Philips' design incubator in the Netherlands, then moved its headquarters to New York City. The name is a play on "shapes" and "ways"—the many ways your idea can take shape.
