A maker of software that insurance companies use to run their day-to-day operations — handling policy administration, underwriting, claims, billing and compliance for property, life and pension insurers worldwide. Founded in 1982 in Israel, it grew out of a research project by scientists from the Weizmann Institute of Science, and its Latin name "sapiens" (meaning "wise") shares its root with Homo sapiens. The company even likes to call itself "a company of humans," leaning into that human connection in its branding.
