A maker of cancer immunotherapies that aimed to harness the body's own immune system to attack tumors, Jounce Therapeutics studied the tumor's cellular makeup to pick promising drug targets and developed experimental antibody treatments. It was founded in 2013 by venture firm Third Rock Ventures and leaders in cancer and immunobiology. The name comes from "jounce," meaning to bounce — fitting a company built to "jump-start" the immune system. Jounce was acquired by Concentra Biosciences in 2023.
