Proshares
A Maryland-based financial firm that issues exchange-traded funds (ETFs), known best for "geared" funds that amplify or flip a market's daily move (2x, 3x, or inverse) so active traders can bet on or against a trend. Its founder Michael Sapir and partner Louis Mayberg started the parent ProFunds in 1997 with inverse mutual funds, then launched ProShares in 2006 to bring the same strategies to ETFs. It made history in October 2021 by launching BITO, the first U.S. Bitcoin-linked ETF, which trades Bitcoin futures rather than the coin itself.
Actively managed ETF that seeks investment results corresponding to the performance of ether by investing in ether futures contracts traded on the CME.
