Sandvik Ab
A Swedish engineering group that makes mining equipment — drill rigs, loaders, trucks, and crushers — plus metal-cutting tools sold under the Sandvik Coromant brand. Founded in 1862 by Göran Fredrik Göransson in the town of Sandviken, it began as the world's first industrial user of the Bessemer steelmaking process. Its name means "sandy bay," and in 2022 it spun off its materials division into the separate company Alleima.
