Taro Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd
A maker of generic and over-the-counter medicines, Taro is best known for its dermatology products — creams, ointments, and gels — along with treatments for heart, nerve, and children's conditions. Founded in 1950 in Haifa, Israel, by a team of pharmacists and physicians, the company's name comes from the Hebrew words for "pharmaceutical industry." It makes many of its own active ingredients in-house, and in 2024 it was folded into the Indian drug giant Sun Pharma.
