Bright Scholar Education Holdings Limited

A global education company that runs international and bilingual K-12 schools in China plus boarding schools, colleges, and English-language centers in the United Kingdom and United States. It was born in 1994 when property developer Yang Guoqiang—who once worked as a farmer and construction laborer—opened Guangdong Country Garden School; the business was reorganized as Country Garden Education in 2014 and rebranded Bright Scholar in 2016. A former builder who called teaching "a glorious career as brilliant as the sun," Yang's education arm later expanded abroad by buying the CATS Colleges network.
