A Berlin-based special purpose acquisition company, or SPAC—often called a "blank check" company—Tio Tech A was created in 2021 to raise money from investors and then find a European technology business to merge with. It was co-founded by Dominik Richter, the co-founder of the meal-kit giant HelloFresh, and Berlin entrepreneur Roman Kirsch, who led it as CEO. After searching for a deal without completing a merger, the company announced in 2023 that it would liquidate and return funds to its shareholders.
