Cemex S.a.b. De C.v.
A maker of cement, ready-mix concrete, and aggregates, Cemex supplies the materials that go into homes, roads, bridges, and skyscrapers across dozens of countries. It began in 1906 as Cementos Hidalgo in Monterrey, Mexico, and took its current name after merging with a rival in 1931 — "Cemex" is simply a shortening of "Cementos Mexicanos." The company's roots trace to local limestone deposits and a push to replace expensive imported cement.
