Pimco ETF Trust
The PIMCO ETF Trust is the legal wrapper that Pacific Investment Management Company (PIMCO) uses to offer its exchange-traded funds, which let everyday investors buy bond funds like the Active Bond ETF (BOND) on the stock exchange. PIMCO got its start in 1971 in Newport Beach, California, when Bill Gross and two partners set up the money-management arm of Pacific Mutual Life Insurance — the name simply means "Pacific Investment Management Company." The trust itself was organized in Delaware in 2008 to house PIMCO's growing lineup of ETFs.
