Ja Solar Holdings Co., Ltd.
A Chinese maker of solar cells and panels, JA Solar builds the wafers, cells, and modules that power homes, businesses, and large-scale solar farms, and its products reach customers in well over a hundred countries. It was founded in 2005 by Jin Baofang, a photovoltaic-industry veteran, and listed on NASDAQ before being taken private and re-listing in Shenzhen. The name comes from the company's Chinese name, JingAo, where "Jing" means "crystal," a nod to the crystalline silicon at the heart of solar cells.
