A clinical-stage biotech that built reprogrammed immune cells to fight cancer. Its TRuC (T-cell receptor fusion construct) platform re-engineered a patient's T cells so they lock onto tumors, with its lead drug candidate TC-210 targeting mesothelioma and other solid tumors. Founded in Cambridge, Massachusetts in 2015 by scientists from the University of Pennsylvania, it grew into a publicly traded company and was later acquired by fellow cell-therapy firm Adaptimmune in a deal that folded its pipeline into a larger portfolio.
