A Houston-based technology firm that brought satellite and managed communications to offshore oil rigs, ships, and mines — places with no cell towers — plus the cybersecurity and data software to go with it. Founded in 2000, its name blends "rig" and "network," a nod to the drilling platforms it first served. It was folded into satellite giant Viasat in 2021, living on as Viasat Energy Services.
