Surgalign Holdings, Inc.
A maker of spinal surgery hardware, Surgalign builds implants for spinal fusion and, through its HOLO Portal system, uses augmented reality and artificial intelligence to help surgeons see and plan complex spine procedures. It began life in 1997 as RTI Surgical, a tissue and medical device maker, before selling its original equipment business in 2020 and rebranding as Surgalign to focus purely on spine technology. The name came from that pivot, and its HOLO Portal technology grew out of the 2020 acquisition of Chicago startup Holo Surgical.
