Chatham Lodging Trust
A real estate investment trust that buys and owns upscale extended-stay and select-service hotels under well-known brands like Marriott, Hilton, Hyatt, and IHG across the United States. Founded in 2009 by veteran hotelier Jeffrey Fisher (who had earlier built the hotel REIT Innkeepers USA), the company launched with a public offering in 2010. Fun fact: Fisher's own hotel-management firm, Island Hospitality Management, runs the properties in the trust's portfolio, so the same family both owns and manages the hotels.
