Digitalglobe, Inc.

A maker of high-resolution satellite imagery used by governments, militaries, and mapmakers to see the Earth from space. Founded in 1992 by Walter Scott as WorldView Imaging Corporation, the company earned one of the first U.S. commercial remote-sensing licenses and later rebranded as EarthWatch before settling on DigitalGlobe in 2001. Its WorldView satellite fleet carried on the founding name, and in 2017 the company merged with Canadian firm MDA to become Maxar Technologies.
