Anworth Mortgage Asset Corporation
A former mortgage real estate investment trust, Anworth Mortgage Asset Corporation bought and held pools of residential home loans, including mortgage-backed securities backed by Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, and passed the income along to its shareholders. Founded in Santa Monica in 1997 by Lloyd McAdams, it operated until it was folded into Ready Capital in 2021. Its name is shared with Anwoth, a tiny parish in southwest Scotland known for a ruined 1600s church—a nod to Scottish heritage no one has fully explained.
Common Stock — Acquired by Ready Capital Corporation (NYSE: RC) on March 19, 2021
