Cfs Bancorp Inc.

A bank holding company that operated Citizens Financial Bank, a community bank serving Chicago's Southland and the neighboring counties of Indiana with everyday consumer and business banking. Born in 1934 as Citizens Federal Savings and Loan Association, one of the many thrifts chartered after the Great Depression's Home Owners Loan Act, it kept the "Citizens" name through later renames (Citizens Financial Services in 1994, Citizens Financial Bank in 2005). In 2013 the company was acquired by First Merchants Bank, which absorbed its branches into its own network.
