Haynes International, Inc.
A maker of high-performance nickel- and cobalt-based alloys used in extreme conditions, Haynes International supplies aerospace engine parts and chemical-processing equipment under the HASTELLOY® and HAYNES® brands. Founder Elwood Haynes, an automotive pioneer who built one of the earliest gasoline-powered cars, started the company in 1912 in Kokomo, Indiana. He coined "Stellite" from the Latin for star, and the later HASTELLOY trademark blends "Haynes," "Stellite," and "alloys."
