Callon Petroleum Co
An independent oil and gas producer that explored for and pumped crude oil and natural gas across the Gulf Coast and later the Permian Basin of West Texas and New Mexico. Founder John S. Callon struck his first wells in 1952, and his brother Sim joined the business two years later; the company simply took its founder's name. It was acquired by APA Corporation in 2024.
