Kimball Electronics, Inc.
A maker of durable electronics for medical, automotive, industrial, and public-safety markets, Kimball Electronics builds printed circuit boards and complete electronic systems for customers around the world. The name descends from the W.W. Kimball piano and organ company founded in Chicago in 1857; after that firm was bought by the Jasper Corporation in 1959, the Kimball name moved into electronics manufacturing. A fun quirk: the lineage behind Victorian parlor pianos now supplies electronics inside today's cars and medical devices.
