An American electronics maker that designs smart TVs, sound bars, and the VIZIO OS software that powers them, giving everyday shoppers big-screen streaming at budget-friendly prices. It was founded in 2002 by William Wang, who survived a deadly Singapore Airlines crash in 2000 and came away determined to make high-definition TVs affordable for everyone. The company started as V Inc. and renamed itself Vizio in 2004, and Walmart has owned it since 2024.
