Olympic Steel Inc
A metals service company based in Cleveland, Ohio, Olympic Steel buys carbon and stainless steel in bulk from mills and then cuts, forms, and distributes it to manufacturers across many industries. It was founded in 1954 by three brothers, Sol and Morris Siegal and partner Sam Sigel, who started out trading metal from a rented warehouse. The name has a legal quirk: because the U.S. Olympic Committee holds exclusive rights to the word "Olympic," the company has at times operated under variations like "Oly Steel" to stay within the law.
