Tristate Capital Holdings, Inc.
A Pittsburgh-based bank holding company that provides commercial and private banking plus investment management to middle-market businesses and high-net-worth individuals. Founded in 2007 by three bankers—including former Pennsylvania banking secretary A. William Schenck—who wanted to blend big-bank capability with boutique service, it grew through acquisitions and now operates under Raymond James Financial. Its name comes from the three states (Pennsylvania, Ohio, and New Jersey) where it first did business; founder Schenck joked he skipped "QuadState" when the bank later expanded into New York.
