Klondex Mines Ltd.
An underground gold mining company headquartered in Reno, Nevada, that worked high-grade veins at its Fire Creek, Midas, and Hollister mines in the state. Klondex was born in 1975 when the Fire Creek project was spun off from mining developer Placer Development, and its name nods to the Klondike gold rush of the Yukon — a byword for striking it rich. Hecla Mining bought the company in 2018, folding those Nevada gold operations into its own.
