Vitran Corporation Inc.
A Canadian trucking and logistics company, Vitran Corporation moved freight for businesses across North America using less-than-truckload (LTL) shipping — where multiple customers share one trailer — plus intermodal services that shifted containers between trucks and trains. Founded in 1981 and based near Toronto, it became known for its heated fleet, which kept temperature-sensitive cargo safe during harsh Canadian winters. In 2014 the company was acquired by TFI International and today operates as part of that larger transportation group.
