Ucp, Inc.
A San Jose-based homebuilder and land developer that bought land in California and Washington's Puget Sound region to build homes under the Benchmark Communities brand. It began in 2004 as Union Community Partners, was bought by investor PICO Holdings, and later went public. Fittingly, its initials UCP simply stand for its original name, Union Community Partners — and in 2017 it was acquired by Century Communities.
