Independence Bank

A community bank headquartered in Owensboro, Kentucky, Independence Bank serves everyday customers, businesses, and farmers with checking and savings accounts, loans, mortgages, and wealth management across dozens of locations in the Bluegrass State. Its roots stretch back to 1909, when the Farmers & Merchants Bank opened in McLean County; two family-owned banks were merged and renamed Independence Bank in 1997. The name came from a road trip to Philadelphia, when the owners' granddaughter pointed out that Independence Hall looked like a bank.
