Blackrock High Income Shares
A closed-end fund that buys high-yield, below-investment-grade bonds—commonly called junk bonds—to generate income for investors. It is managed by BlackRock, the world's largest asset manager, founded in 1988 by Larry Fink and seven partners. Fink famously launched BlackRock after a costly bond-trading loss at his previous employer, giving the firm a risk-management focus. The fund's plainly descriptive name says what it does, and it was folded into BlackRock's Corporate High Yield Fund VI in late 2013.
