Hyster-Yale, Inc.

A maker of forklifts and other lift trucks sold under the Hyster and Yale brands, used in warehouses, factories, and ports around the world. The company was spun off from NACCO Industries in 2012. Its roots are quirky: Hyster started in 1929 in Portland, Oregon, making lifting machines for loggers, and supposedly took its name from the workers' cry of "hoist 'er" when hauling lumber. Yale, meanwhile, traces back to the famous lock-making family of the 1840s.
