A maker of ultra-sensitive magnetic sensors and couplers built on spintronics—a nanotechnology that reads the spin of electrons rather than their charge—used in industrial, medical, and scientific equipment. The company began in 1989 as Nonvolatile Electronics, Inc., the name behind its "NVE" initials, and later shortened it when it went public in 2000.
