Calamos Asset Management, Inc.

An investment management firm, Calamos runs mutual funds, exchange-traded funds and other strategies for individuals, financial advisors, pension funds and foundations, with a specialty in convertible securities. It was founded in 1977 by John P. Calamos Sr., a Chicagoan and former Air Force B-52 pilot who discovered his love of investing as a boy rummaging through old stock certificates in his parents' grocery store. The founder's convertible-securities work during the volatile 1970s helped shape the firm.
